Valencia preparing ticket back to Spain for Chelsea flop Fernando Torres
VALENCIA are lining up an audacious swoop to bring Fernando Torres back to Spain as they prepare for life without Roberto Soldado.
Soldado is nearing a move to Spurs for £26m after the north London outfit met his buyout clause.
Valencia have been drawing up a shortlist of attacking reinforcements which is believed to include Manchester United's Javier Hernandez and Arsenal's Olivier Giroud.
Chelsea have made Wayne Rooney their top transfer target, which could force Torres out of Stamford Bridge.
According to Spanish paper Superdeporte, the La Liga outfit have already established contact with Chelsea over a move for Torres.
They also claim Valencia aren't prepared to offer more than half of the £50m transfer fee Chelsea stumped up for Torres.
It also remains to be seen whether owner Roman Abramovich would be prepared to take such a huge hit on a player who has been a shadow of his former self since joining from Liverpool.
Torres has only netted 34 goals in 134 games for the Blues.
Meanwhile, Valencia have joined Norwich in the chase for Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella.
