Arsene Wenger shoulders the blame for Aaron Ramsey's injury setbacks
ARSENE WENGER admits he is prepared to shoulder the blame for Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey's injury setbacks this season.
The Welsh midfielder made his first Premier League start in four months and was instrumental in the Gunners' 3-0 win over Hull yesterday.
Ramsey had been sidelined with a calf problem, and Wenger has held his hands up over the club's handling of his injury.
"Maybe we overplayed him a little bit," said Wenger.
"We should have rested him before he was injured."
Maybe we overplayed him a little bit. We should have rested him before he was injured.
The Gunners are still in the driving seat to finish fourth and Wenger was also happy to lavish praise on Ramsey and Mesut Ozil.
He added: "Ramsey and Ozil give us a cutting edge in the final third - that makes us look much more dangerous.
"Football is down to the quality of the players and we could see that today.
"The timing of Ozil's passes, the incisiveness of his passing, makes you turn quickly from defence to offence and that is very important."
