Sturridge hopes to be fit for the visit of his old side to Anfield on Sunday (14:05pm).
The clash has been billed as a potential title decider, but Jose Mourinho has threatened to field a weakened line-up ahead of his side's Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
But Sturridge is not concerned about his old team's plans, revealing he hopes to be back from a hamstring injury in time to play the Blues.
"Hopefully this weekend I'll be back," said Sturridge.

"I'm not too sure if he [Brendan Rodgers] will play me or not. We'll have to see."
Sturridge admits he would like to show respect to the club he left in January 2013 for Liverpool, but is likely to be too caught up in the emotion NOT to celebrate should he score.
"I would like to show respect to my former club," he added.
"But if I were to come on and score in the last minute I'm going to be on a mad one, aren't I?"
"I don't want to - but I don't know if I could control myself if that happened."
