Kanu is keeping Redknapp waiting
KANU has forced Portsmouth to wait another two months before he reveals whether he is prepared to sign a new one-year contract with the FA Cup winners.
Manager Harry Redknapp honoured an agreement to give Kanu a deal after he made more than 20 senior appearances last season.[>

But now the striker is away on international duty with Nigeria, and is not expected back until June.[>

Kanu, who scored the Wembley winner against Cardiff, has already played in a friendly against Austria and a World Cup qualifier against South Africa. Now he is set to figure in games againstSierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea twice.[>

Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie does not anticipate any hitches even though Kanu has been linked with Sydney FC. [>

Storrie said: “As far as I’m aware there are no problems with the contract and Kanu will sign it. Considering his international schedule I do not think it’ll happen before pre-season.”[>
