Leicester 0 - West Brom 1: No net gain but Saido Berahino the hero for Baggies
SAIDO BERAHINO'S red-hot scoring streak is over – but he showed he is no one-month wonder.
He didn't find the net but his pace and awareness terrorised Leicester.
Although they managed to nullify his goal threat he was the architect of the 47th-minute winner for West Brom's third victory of the season.
Escaping down the left on another of his searing runs, he fired in a low cross that Wes Morgan thought he had cleared with a diving header.
But the ball struck team-mate Esteban Cambiasso on his knee and rebounded into the net, with Kasper Schmeichel stranded.
The West Brom striker – who came into the game with six goals in his last five games – couldn't take his sizzling strike rate into November but he could easily have added to his tally.
Schmeichel needed two attempts to smother his 17th-minute shot after he nipped between Morgan and Marcin Wasilewski.
Baggies win delightful - Irvine [AMBIENT]
And he was too quick for the Pole, setting up Chris Brunt for a shot that grazed the bar.
Burundi-born Berahino was the Baggies' only dangerman as both teams were desperate to end their recent struggles.
But he was still the difference between them - as Nigel Pearson's Foxes lacked threat.
Baggies' boss Alan Irvine beamed: "It was fortunate the way the goal went in but it was a good move to get there. I'm quite happy to take goals like that."
Pearson said: "We were unlucky, without a shadow of doubt."
