MANCHESTER UNITED have been dealt another injury blow after Michael Carrick withdrew from the England squad with a groin problem.

Louis Van Gaal had been planning to deploy Carrick as a centre-back for United's next Premier League clash against Arsenal on November 22, but could be forced to change his plans after the former Tottenham man dropped out of Roy Hodgson's Three Lions squad.
