Raheem Sterling - Spotlight On
Michael Owen believes contract rebel Raheem Stelring is replaceable and expects him to leave the club.
Sterling has told Liverpool he will not sign a new contract and has been linked with a number of clubs including Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd.
But Owen feels his former club would cope if Sterling leaves.
He said: "Sterling is a very good player but put it this way - a year ago Liverpool lost Luis Suarez. He is irreplacable. If Liverpool lose Sterling they can replace him.
"If I was a Liverpool fan I wouldn't be losing sleep if Sterling did leave and they got a fair old chunk of money. You can replace Sterling. You can't replace Suarez."
Glen Johnson is on the verge of joining Turkey side Besiktas.
The 30-year-old's contract ends at the of the month and is not expected to sign a new deal.
The Liverpool Echo claim Besiktas have offered Johnson a two-year contract and are confident a move will be done.
Michael Owen is unconcerned with Sterling leaves
Lazar Markovic could be set for a quick return to Portugal.
The Serbian struggled for a regular place in the Liverpool team after joining last summer for £20m from Benfica.
Portugal newspapers A Bola and Record are reporting the Primeira Liga champions want to resign the 21-year-old on a season-long loan deal.
