Chelsea open talks with Real Madrid for Spanish ace
CHELSEA have begun talks with Real Madrid over a proposed move for Dani Carvajal, according to reports.
Chelsea have made contact with Real Madrid over a deal for Dani Carvajal
The Spaniard has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in recent weeks.
Spanish publication Fichajes claim the right-back is unhappy under Zinedine Zidane with the French boss opting to play summer signing Danilo ahead of him.
Reports emerged earlier this week that Guus Hiddink had sounded out the 24-year-old as a target to bolster his defensive line.
And Fichajes claim the Blues have taken things a step further by approaching Real to discuss a deal.
The Spanish giants would be unlikely to want to let him leave after only signing a five-year deal last year.
But with Carvajal starting just eight times in La Liga the opportunity of a regular starting spot elsewhere could appeal to him.
Hiddink: Chelsea are focussed on FA Cup success
Chelsea's current first choice right-back Branislav Ivanovic has come in for criticism this season after their dismal start to the campaign.
But despite the Serbian's questionable form, Chelsea gave him a new one-year contract earlier this month.
And with the 32-year-old on the decline, Carvajal could be a suitable long-term replacement.
