Revealed: Manchester United can afford Cristiano Ronaldo contract demands
MANCHESTER UNITED have the money to rival Paris Saint-Germain in the pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Old Trafford this summer
Express Sport understands the Red Devils are keen to bring their former superstar back to Old Trafford.
Spanish newspaper Sport claim Ronaldo is currently negotiating with Real over how best to leave the Bernabeu this summer.
It is reported that Real will request as little as £48million for their talisman.
The latter figure would equate to just over £300,000 a week, which is what United captain Wayne Rooney currently earns.
Rooney is the top earner in the Premier League and Ronaldo would likely expect pay parity with the England striker as a minimum.
And even if United were to pay Ronaldo the higher fee that would come in at £384,000 a week, which would not break their bank.
Cristiano Ronaldo Homeless Prank
It emerged earlier this week from Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo that mega-rich PSG are seeking to muscle United out of the race with a £112m bid for Ronaldo.
But the player is said to be more keen on rejoining the club he left in 2009 after winning three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the Champions League and two League Cups.
