According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal and United will go head-to-head in the summer to sign Brazilian midfielder Eduardo Sasha.
The Internacional star, who can play on the wing or as a No 10, has scored five goals in 12 appearances so far this season.
Meanwhile, the father of 16-year-old striker Nishan Burkart has confirmed he will leave FC Zurich to join United in the summer.
Zurich's president Ancillo Canepa has responded by claiming the Switzerland Under-16 international will no longer play for the Swiss club.
"We have decided to leave the club in the summer. Nishan switches to Manchester United," Burkart’s father told Swiss newspaper Blick.
“This reaction by Mr Canepa has disappointed us. We would have liked a more dignified exit. It makes me feel as if he is offended. He could indeed be proud.
