Former Liverpool star slams Mamadou Sakho: Give him a two-year ban!
DIDI HAMANN believes UEFA should throw the book at Mamadou Sakho after his failed drugs test.
Hamann believes Sakho should not be let off lightly
Sakho submitted a sample after Liverpool's Europa League second-leg clash with Manchester United which was found to contain traces of a fat-burner.
The defender has agreed with Liverpool that he should not play while the investigation into the test goes on, meaning he will miss tomorrow's semi-final against Villarreal (8.05pm).
But he could face a further ban of up to two years, and former Liverpool midfielder Hamann believes Sakho has no excuses.
Sakho would not be the first Premier League player to be suspended for taking weight-loss pills.
Current Liverpool team-mate Kolo Toure was banned for six months while at Manchester City in 2011 after taking water tablets to aid weight loss.
