Liverpool news: Real Madrid star Karim Benzema reveals secret behind THAT goal
REAL MADRID striker Karim Benzema believes his Champions League final goal against Liverpool had nothing to do with luck.
Tony Bellew slams Liverpool's 'fool' of a goalkeeper Loris Karius
Benzema netted when Reds goalkeeper Loris Karius rolled the ball against the Frenchman as it ricocheted into the net.
Many put the opening goal in Kiev down to an error from Karius, who was also at fault for Gareth Bale’s second of the night as Real won 3-1.
That talk was enhanced further yesterday when it emerged the Liverpool shot-stopper was suffering concussion following an earlier blow to the head.
But Benzema believes there was nothing lucky about the crucial opening goal.
"No, I don't think it was luck," Benzema said on Kuwait television when asked about his goal.
It may have been an easy goal, but you have to be there to score it
"You have to be at the right place at the right time.
"I don't believe in luck, it's always hard work.

Zinedine Zidane left his post as Real Madrid manager last week, just days after guiding Los Blancos to their third Champions League title in a row.
Reports have emerged that the 1998 World Cup winner departed the Bernabeu after disagreements with Real president Florentino Perez.
The row is based on the potential transfers of David De Gea and Eden Hazard.
Zidane reportedly wanted the pair to make the move to the Spanish capital while Perez did not want the Premier League duo.
PSG and Brazil star Neymar is still believed to be a target despite only moving to Paris last summer.
