Barcelona transfer news: PSG told Philippe Coutinho price just months after Liverpool deal
BARCELONA have reportedly set a price for Philippe Coutinho - with PSG already eyeing a deal for the former Liverpool star.
Coutinho demonstrates outrageous skill on defender at Anfield
Barcelona battled hard to sign Coutinho in January, prising him away from Liverpool for a huge £142million.
The Catalan giants had spent months wearing down the Reds’ resolve, with the Merseyside giants rebuffing all offer for the Brazil international this summer.
Barcelona eventually landed their man when Liverpool agreed to let him go - should the La Liga giants pay their asking price.
Ultimately, Coutinho failed to sparkle last term despite Barca easing to the La Liga and Copa del Rey titles.
There is already talk of PSG preparing a £238million bid, with Neymar keen for the Ligue 1 giants to sign his compatriot.
Yet Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona will reject an offer so small.
They supposedly insist any club keen to sign Coutinho must pay his huge £350million release clause.
PSG may struggle to meet that given they need to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
And Mundo Deportivo say Barcelona feel Coutinho will still be in their ranks by the time the new La Liga season kicks off.
The player scored two and assisted two as Brazil were knocked out of the World Cup by Belgium on Friday.
Coutinho sparks OUTRAGE from Liverpool fans in message
And, speaking afterwards, Coutinho admitted the nation was hurting.
"We wanted to go all the way to the final but we've given our best shot. Everyone gave everything," the Barcelona playmaker told SporTV.
"I'm sure will be beaten up [by criticism] from all sides.
“Life goes on, that's football. You win and you lose.
"We're sad because we wanted to win badly, like all Brazil. Unfortunately, we couldn't."
