Woods in cup plea
TIGER WOODS has called on the PGA Tour to give the US team a week’s rest before defending the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor.
Woods, who took the £6.3million bonus for winning the FedExCup play-offs despite losing out to Phil Mickelson at Atlanta’s Tour Championship at the weekend, will return to the US team in 12 months’ time after missing out through injury at Valhalla in 2008.
He said: “Given where the cup is and what we have to do, we’re better off not to play.” Woods in cup plea
