Lee Westwood’s torch of class
LEE Westwood and Ryder Cup hero Ian Poulter want to carry the 2012 London Olympic torch.
The torch relay will begin its 70-day journey around the UK on May 18 next year.
A total of 8,000 people will get to carry it and World No.1 Westwood wants to be included. He said: “I would love to carry the Olympic torch. That would be great and if someone were to nominate me it would be fabulous, and certainly a great honour.”
Poulter added: “I would love to carry the Olympic torch and, if it’s convenient, I would welcome the opportunity.”
