Joyeuse Irish trip should pay off
A YEAR on from her winning debut in a Lingfield maiden, Frankel's half-sister Joyeuse heads to Ireland looking for her first Group race success.
The Lady Cecil-trained three-year-old has two Listed wins on her CV and has been placed in two Group Threes. As yet she has yet to win a race at Group level, though.
"We dropped her back to sprinting at Haydock and she won nicely there," said Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah.
"The Leopardstown race [7.50, ATR] is a step back up in class again to Group company so we'll have to see how she fares. She's been in very good form since. It looks a nice opening, but they all do on paper."
Grimthorpe is certainly right on that score as Joyeuse is rated at least 7lb better than all the opposition - hence her likely odds-on starting price.
She rates the best bet of the day by some way.
