Dempsey gets the gold
NICK DEMPSEY claimed gold in clinical style at the RS:X windsurfing World Championship in Weymouth.
Athens Olympic bronze medallist Dempsey, 29, led from the start to win by 18 points, with Israeli Nimrod Mashich second.
Dempsey, fourth in Beijing and very much up for 2012 in Weymouth, said: “It’s just awesome. I was a broken man after Beijing. I’ve always wanted to be world champion so this is probably the pinnacle of my career.”
