Fallon Sherrock moves one step closer to joining Luke Littler on PDC darts tour
Female player Fallon Sherrock is bidding to earn a spot on the PDC darts tour.
Fallon Sherrock is closing in on place on the PDC darts tour after making it though to the final stage of qualifying school. Sherrock, dubbed the ‘Queen of the Palace’ for her previous Ally Pally exploits in the World Championships, enjoyed victories over Ryan Hogarth, Adrian Gray and Brett Claydon.
She breezed past Hogarth 5-1 but Gray provided a much sterner test, with the pair going down to a deciding leg. But Sherrock was at her ruthless best against Claydon, whitewashing him 5-0.
It keeps alive the enticing prospect of the 29-year-old appearing at events alongside teenage sensation Luke Littler. The 16-year-old became an overnight superstar with his run to the World Championship final earlier this month, despite missing out on overall glory with a 7-4 defeat to Luke Humphries.
However, Littler’s run proved enough to earn him a place in this year’s Premier League series, as well as a spot on the senior tour for 2024/25. And Sherrock joining him would further heighten the current media frenzy that is engulfing the sport.
The Milton Keynes-based star got close 12 months ago, making it through to the second stage. However, a 6-3 final day defeat against Robert Collins meant she agonisingly missed out.
Like Littler, the world championships provided the stage to catapult Sherrock to stardom. Back in December 2019, she became the first female to beat a male player in the tournament, overcoming Ted Evetts in the first round.
She followed this up with a dramatic 3–1 win over 11th seed Mensur Suliovic in the second round, before losing to 4-2 to Chris Dobey. After failing to qualify the following year she’s been in the main draw for the sport’s biggest event the past three seasons, but failed to get past the first round each time.

Indeed, her participation in the 2022/23 version courted controversy, with Sherrock initially missing out on qualification. However, the PDC duly announced that Sherrock had qualified for the event by virtue of winning the Women's World Matchplay, a mid-season rule change that attracted criticism.
The final stage of qualifying school takes place between January 11 and 14, with each daily winner in the UK and European competitions winning a place on the 2024-25 tour. A total of 30 tour cards are up for grabs, with the remaining 22 places to be decided by the final-stage order of merit.
