Stephen Hendry left Jimmy Bullard asking ‘are you okay?’ after failing to pot a simple shot during a snooker challenge. The seven-time world champion admitted to having a ‘meltdown’ as the duo attempted to make a 100 break.

Hendry still plays snooker professionally and is currently in China playing at an exhibition event. But he has become hugely popular on his YouTube channel Stephen Hendry’s Cue Tips.

A series of sporting greats and celebrities have been welcomed onto the channel. Hendry conducts interviews and challenges his guests to snooker-based games.

Former Premier League star Bullard was the latest person to appear on the show. But the challenge did not go to plan for Hendry as he had a ‘meltdown’ at the table, having admitted to not picking up a cue for a while.

The pair attempted a 100 break, which involved 25 consecutive balls to be potted. It is regarded as one of snooker’s hardest skills. Hendry, one of snooker’s greatest-ever players, is no stranger to the 100 break - but he had a nightmare alongside Bullard.

They initially struggled and Bullard missed the black on their first attempt. Having regrouped, the duo reached seven when Hendry endured his most toe-curling moment, leaving Bullard in stitches.

Hendry lined up a series of what appeared to be simple shots. He then told Bullard: "If I leave golf alone for six or seven weeks, I can come back and play well. If I leave this alone, I'm all over the place."

And the Scot’s words were quickly proven true as he somehow completely missed his shot. The red bounced against the cushion and missed the pocket by quite a distance.

Hendry and Bullard

Hendry had what he referred to as a “snooker meltdown”. The seven-time world champion looked thoroughly embarrassed as he turned to Bullard, who asked: “Are you okay?”

A laughing Bullard added: “What were you looking at? Is it a breakdown?”

The pair gave the challenge another go, with Hendry saying ahead of another shot: "I need to exorcise the demons.”

They had already managed an attempt north of 50 before Hendry’s error, which was 30 more than he secured with Tottenham and England midfielder James Maddison. But after the slip-up, Hendry and Bullard reached only 30 and then 36 before deciding to give up.
