Rob Cross believes he didn’t do his performance justice in the final of the Polish Darts Masters against Luke Littler.

Cross beat Stephen Bunting and Michael van Gerwen en route to victory at the PreZero Arena in Gliwice.

But when matched against Littler in the final, the Englishman crumbled under pressure, losing 8-3 to the teenage sensation.

Speaking after the defeat, Cross said: ''Luke was brilliant but I didn't do myself justice in the final.

"I've loved being back in Poland, the crowd were absolutely amazing and I'd love to come back next year.

"I'm enjoying the game more than ever, I feel very blessed to be on these big stages."

Despite Littler’s impressive showings this season, the result wasn’t a foregone conclusion beforehand, with Cross having entered the Polish Masters in strong form.

Cross waltzed to victory at the US Darts Masters in New York earlier this month, before losing the final against Gerwyn Price in Copenhagen last weekend.

But as many have found out already this year, Littler is a formidable force when he’s in the groove, with the World Championship runner-up beating Peter Wright and Michael Smith at the Polish Masters.

Commenting on his latest tournament win, Littler said: "I've just had a week off in Orlando and there was a bit of rust. But I think this weekend I've played well.

"Obviously Rob [Cross] has been at it all weekend up until now. I've had a week off and I thought I was in for a game but Rob didn't turn up. I did punish him and got over the line.

"I love playing in big arenas in front of thousands. I'm just playing well. It's another one to add to the list."

Littler lifted the Premier League title last month and the teen has already set his sights on the upcoming competitions.

He added: "I want to win as much as I can. This first half of the year has been really good with six titles and numerous nine-darters. I can't wait for the second half of the season to kick in.

"I hope to win everything. But it might not happen. The Matchplay I'm looking forward to, the Grand Prix and Grand Slam."

The World Matchplay is set to kick off in Blackpool next month, with Littler expected to be among the 32 players taking part.
