Paris Olympics star Tom Daley has complained the food hall in the Olympic village “gets busy”. The 30-year-old won the fifth Olympic medal of his career on Monday after clinching silver alongside Noah Williams in the men's synchronised 10m platform.

Daley is one of Great Britain’s most decorated Olympians, having represented his country at five Games.

He won his first gold at Tokyo 2020 as well as a bronze medal after already clinching bronze medals in 2012 and 2016.

Daley will have been a recognisable figure around the Olympic village due to his previous endeavours and celebrity status. And the veteran spoke about his stay in France as he told GQ Magazine: “The village itself is actually quite great.

“The only thing is the food hall gets busy, but hopefully they’ll figure that out because as the Games go on it's just going to get busier and busier.”

Daley has encountered a number of famous faces at his fifth Games and also spoke about witnessing blockbuster tennis star Rafael Nadal flagging down a bus.

“You know the crazy thing about the Olympic village is you bump into people all the time,” he continued.

“Like the other day we were talking towards the bus - Nadal was really late for the bus and he just ran right into the middle of the bus driveway. You know, he needed to make that bus. I don’t know if he had a match or what.”

And the diving ace has also shared the treatment table with Andy Murray. “Andy Murray is quite often in the physio room, if you’d believe it,” he added.

“As some of the elders of the team, me and him spend a lot of time in the physio room. But yeah, you bump into people all the time from all different sports, all different countries - and everyone’s there for a common goal.”

Daley effectively retired from diving in the aftermath of the Tokyo Games but made a comeback for the Paris Games at the request of his oldest son Robbie.

And he refused to rule out competing in Los Angeles Games in 2028 as he explained: “I love diving and this year has been so much fun for me to be able to come back and enjoy it. But I don’t really know what I’m going to do yet. I’m just enjoying this moment and then I feel like the decision on diving is a future problem.”
