Former World Snooker champion Neil Robertson knocked out in first round
NEIL ROBERTSON suffered the ignominy of being knocked out in the first round of the World Snooker Championship.
The 2010 champion led Robert Milkins 5-4 overnight, however contrived to relinquish a winning position.
Robertson scored a break of 143, which put him in the contention for the highest break award, however it was the only real highlight of a largely disappointing display.
The other frames proved to be scrappy, but Milkins produced a stunning victory to depose of the World No2.
The Australian therefore missed out on the unofficial 'Triple Crown' which consists of winning the World Championship, Masters and UK Championship.
Disappointing loss but Robert played a great game. Bad end to an otherwise fantastic season
Robertson was quite philosophical about his defeat, tweeting: "Disappointing loss but Robert played a great game. Bad end to an otherwise fantastic season.
"Time to chill out for a few weeks!
