Wimbledon sensation Sonay Kartal is set to be handed a huge boost to her career prospects following her breakthrough tournament performance on her SW19 debut. The youngster was ranked 298th in the world prior to entering Wimbledon as a qualifier.

After making it into the first round proper, she pulled off the shock of the tournament by knocking out 28th-seeded Sorana Cirstea.
The London-born starlet then overcame Clara Burel, the current world No. 42, to set up an enticing third-round encounter with Coco Gauff. The American, however, proved to be too strong for the Wimbledon debutant as she strolled to a 6-4, 6-0 success.
But Kartal's reward for her impressive run will see her climb 108 places to 190th in the WTA Rankings, which are due to be updated following the conclusion of the tournament on Monday. The 22-year-old's return of two victories in the tournament proper earned her 160 ranking points, having previously earned 228 overall.

Harriet Dart is projected to jump 18 places up to 82nd in the rankings after beating Katie Boutler to reach round three, while Boulter's defeat means she will be four places worse off in No. 33.
Former British No. 1 Emma Raducanu has made her way back into the top 100 after reaching the fourth round. The one-time Grand Slam winner, 21, fell to 303rd in the world as recently as this April after missing a huge chunk of the 2023 season following a series of injuries and operations last year.
But the 2021 US Open champion has been gradually making her way back to the WTA Tour and the Briton will be targeting the top 50 next after rising to 94th in the world. She reached a career-high ranking of 10th back in July 2022.

Her Wimbledon conqueror Lulu Sun - one of the breakout stars at the tournament this year after reaching the quarter-finals from the qualifiers - will rise to 53rd from 123rd. Elsewhere, former world No 1 Caroline Wozniacki is set to move up 17 places to No 74 and Naomi Osaka jumps 11 places to No. 102.
Iga Swiatek crashed out in the third round after being stunned by Yulia Putintseva, but the Pole didn’t suffer any lasting damage in the rankings as world No 1 as her nearest challenger Gauff fell at the same hurdle, while Aryna Sabalenka was forced to withdraw through injury.
As a result, Swiatek will keep her place at the top of the WTA rankings until after the US Open.
