Novak Djokovic outlines hilarious plan to stop Marin Cilic in Queen’s final
NOVAK DJOKOVIC says he is going to play the Queen’s final against Marin Cilic with two racquets.
Djokovic beat Jeremy Chardy in straight sets this afternoon to reach his first ATP final since returning from an elbow injury.
However, the Serbian faces a difficult opponent in No 1 seed Marin Cilic.
One of Cilic’s best attributes is his tremendous serve, which Nick Kyrgios failed to break in the semi-finals.
But Djokovic has a hilarious plan to make sure he can return as many shots as possible.
“Two racquets,” Djokovic said.
I am going to have one racquet in the right hand and one in the left
“I am going to have one racquet in the right hand and one in the left.
“Hopefully it is going to surprise him.”
Djokovic was in good spirits upon reaching the final and he says it was always his plan to challenge for silverware in west London.
“I am very pleased to go through to the finals, it has been a while," he added.
“I haven’t played for the title in a long time so this is definitely a very special moment for me, considering what I have been through in the last year or so.
“It is a great occasion.
“I would lie if I said I wasn’t ambitious going into the tournament.
“Every tournament I’m hoping I can play the way I know I can play.
“I am always hoping I can go all the way but at the same time I have to have small objectives as well.”
