Mario Balotelli: England are no rivals to Italy's World Cup pursuit
MARIO BALOTELLI feels Group D rivals England lack experience to make a mark on the World Cup.
The former Manchester City ace dismissed any chance of the Three Lions winning the competition or posing a threat to the Azzurri.
Italy won the tournament in 2006 when their winners included Andrea Pirlo and Gianluigi Buffon, who remain mainstays of Cesare Prandelli’s side.
“England have some good players, but they are no real rivals for Italy,” said Balotelli, who could lead the line against England on June 14.
“I am not saying we are favourites, but we have the mentality and experienced players to surprise people.
“We have players who have won the World Cup. I don’t think England have a player who knows what it’s like to play past the quarter-? nal.”
