Turkey’s best beach is a ‘beautiful natural paradise’
A stunning beach on Turkey's southwestern coast is the country's best and it's close to a major airport.
Turkey is one of the UK’s top holiday destinations and many Britons travel there to relax on the beach.
But where’s the country’s best beach?
According to Tripadvisor reviews, Iztuzu Beach is the country’s best-rated coast and has been described as a “paradise”.
Sometimes known as Turtle Beach, Iztuzu is a haven for wildlife and an important nesting area for loggerhead turtles.
The marine reptiles can weigh as much as 400 pounds and are named after their large heads that can crush sea urchins and clams.
While Iztuzu Beach is sometimes closed to tourists during nesting season, visitors can enjoy it at other times of year.
‘Simon S’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “Beautiful natural paradise. Picturesque beach with natural beauty. Ideal for families with children as this is a shallow bathing area.”
‘Claire H’ said: “One of the best beaches we’ve ever been to! Hands down one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches ever. If you visit this area, you must include a trip to Iztuzu.”

The beach has wooden stakes to indicate the turtles’ nesting sites and tourists must avoid these areas.
Iztuzu can be reached from Dalyan town and the majority of people choose to travel there by boat to enjoy the coastline views.
However, it’s also possible to reach the beach by catching a minibus from the town and it takes around 25 minutes.
The easiest way to travel to Dalyan from the UK is to fly to Dalaman Airport with non-stop flights on offer from many of the UK’s major airports.
It takes just over four hours on average and tourists will find the weather is warm in June and September but the prices are lower.
