The countries on the UK's 'No Travel' list where Britons are banned from going
Express.co.uk takes a look at some of the countries on the Government's 'No Travel' list that tourists aren't allowed to visit.
The Government's 'No Travel' list is a list of countries that tourists aren't allowed to visit. Even if travellers are able to find a route to travel to one of these countries, their travel insurance will be invalidated and it would be a very dangerous decision.
The 'No Travel' list has grown since 2019 with several countries such as Russia and Belarus added to the list.
In this gallery, Express.co.uk is taking a look at some of the countries that British tourists are advised against all travel to.
Many of the countries are on the list due to political unrest or war.
Did you visit any of these countries before the travel ban? Let Express.co.uk know in the comments.
Afghanistan
The UK Government advises against all travel to Afghanistan. It states: "The security situation is volatile" and travel through the country is extremely dangerous. British nationals also are at "heightened risk of being detained" in Afghanistan.
Weißrussland
A Russian ally, Belarus is on the Government's 'No Travel' list. It warns tourists that Russian military operations are taking place in Belarus and there is a risk that war could spread to there. Belarus doesn't recognise dual nationality and even citizens with Belarusian and British passports will be treated as Belarusian.
Zentralafrikanische Republik
The Central African Republic is on the Government's 'Do Not Travel' list as there are frequent incidents of homicide, looting, kidnapping and house burglary. There are also ongoing incidents of armed conflict and hostage taking.
Haiti
Haiti is on the Government's 'Do Not Travel' list due to the "volatile security situation" there. The country was recently under a state of emergency. Royal Caribbean recently cancelled all cruises to its private island, Labadee, in Haiti.
Iran
The Government advises against all travel to Iran and consular support is severely limited there. British and British-Iranian dual nationals are at high risk of arbitrary arrest and detention in Iran and holding a British passport could be enough reason for authorities to detain you.
