Most popular Italian honeymoon destination features centuries of culture and good food
A new study has found the top destinations for a wonderful honeymoon in Italy, with many offering good food, warm weather and a rich culture.
The Italian holiday company Amalfi Coast Tours has shared a list of the top destinations in the country for a romantic honeymoon.
Honeymoons give couples the perfect start to married life, with many tourists enjoying a trip to Italy for its sunshine, rich culture and unbelievable food.
Magdalena Petrusic, travel expert at Amalfi, stated that, whilst Rome topped the list, the country offers a lot for young lovers.
She explained: "Rome's position as the most sought-after Italian honeymoon destination reflects its charm for couples wanting a romantic and culturally rich experience.
"This study not only emphasizes Rome's popularity but also offers valuable insights into the affordability and desirability of Italy's top honeymoon spots, helping couples make informed decisions for their dream getaway - especially if they're looking to switch things up rather than visiting the capital."
Using factors such as the number of tourists searching for each destination, Amalfi Coast Tours found that Rome was ranked the best Italian destination for a honeymoon.
The Italian capital received around 600 searches each month and costs honeymooners a very reasonable £1,100 per week to visit.
Naturally, the city has a considerable history, with many tourists going to see the remnants of the Colosseum or the beautifully sculpted Trevi Fountains.

However, couples looking to save a bit of money but still have an unforgettable time during their honeymoon were advised by Amalfi Coast Tours to consider visiting Sicily.
Receiving the same number of searches as Rome, the southern part of Italy is much more affordable to stay in, with the average week-long break costing two tourists a little under £500.
Much like Rome, there are plenty of historical attractions and authentic restaurants to visit, but visitors can also spend their time away relaxing on the beach.
