A new study has unveiled the cities that travellers are most desperate to return to and the most popular is right here in the UK.

But which cities are at the top of the list for returning travellers? A study from the team at InsureandGo scoured online reviews to find the cities that tourists are most desperate to go back to.
While the number one destination was right here in the UK, there are cities all over the globe that tourists are eager to return to.

When it came to attractions, Dollywood, the theme park dedicated to Dolly Parton, was the most popular attraction with returning tourists.
10. Madrid, Spain
Madrid scraped a place on the list with many tourists eager to return to the Spanish capital. Top attractions include the art galleries - Museo Nacional del Prado and the Reina Sofia - as well as the capital's pretty Retiro Park.
9. Mexico City, Mexico
Mexico City was one of the most popular cities for travellers to return to outside of Europe. The Mexican capital is known for its colourful architecture and the Museo Frida Kahlo.
8. Edinburgh, Scotland
Edinburgh left plenty of travellers wanting more. The Scottish capital is set to get even more popular after it was heavily featured in the Netflix series, One Day. However, the city's Royal Mile was recently named as one of the world's most overcrowded attractions.
7. Berlin, Germany
Germany's capital was a popular destination for returning travellers. The funky city is known for Museum Island, the Berlin Wall Memorial and its quirky nightlife. During the Christmas season, the city is alive with markets.

Amsterdam just missed out on a top five spot in the ranking. Despite having one of the world's most expensive tourist taxes, Amsterdam left many tourists wanting more. Although it's often known for its Red Light District, the Dutch capital also has plenty of cultural attractions.

Bustling Tokyo is one city that left plenty of tourists wanting more. The Japanese capital has some of the world's best food, incredible shopping and beautiful temple complexes. It's a lengthy flight for British tourists but it's still worth going back to for many Brits.
