The world's most welcoming country for tourists is incredibly beautiful - top 10 list

As several countries introduce measures to deter tourists, other destinations have been named as the most welcoming in the world for foreign visitors.

Tourists have picked up a bit of a bad reputation in recent years. Whether it's a daily fee to access Venice, a screen to block Mount Fuji or an expensive tourist tax in Amsterdam, several top destinations have taken measures to reduce the number of tourists visiting. 

But where can tourists be sure of a warm welcome? 

A study by Remitly asked people around the world questions to find out how friendly different countries are towards tourists. 

Luckily for Britons, there are some fantastic destinations in the top 10.

10. Belgium

Belgium was one of Europe's most welcoming countries towards tourists. The country's top destinations include Bruges and Brussels but Ghent is a fantastic option for tourists looking for a walkable city

9. Estonia

Estonia might be slightly off many tourists' radars but the gorgeous Baltic country has plenty to offer. Whether it's the pretty capital, Tallinn, or untouched natural beauty, there are plenty of reasons to visit Estonia this year.

8. Germany

Germany doesn't get as much attention as France or Spain but the country is one of the world's most welcoming to tourists. Check out Berlin's hipster culture or wander the pretty streets of riverside Heidelberg.

Canada was one of the world's most welcoming countries for tourists and it's also regularly named as one of the world's safest countries. The country's gorgeous natural beauty is one of its top attractions for tourists.

Australia just missed out on a spot in the top five but it's still one of the world's most welcoming countries for tourists. The Land Down Under's beaches are of course one of its top attractions but don't miss fun city life in Melbourne and Sydney.
