Africa’s ‘mini Mediterranean’ town full of beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters
This seaside town nicknamed "Blue Pearl" offers unique landscapes, a turquoise sea and peaceful beaches.
A seaside resort in northeast Morocco offers a cheaper alternative to other, more famous coastal destinations overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
Saïdia, known as the "Blue Pearl", offers its visitors an array of activities, turquoise waters and relaxing beaches.
The climate in this Moroccan town is very mild throughout the year, with the exception of summer, when the average maximum is over 30C but the mercury can get above 40C.
The rainiest period is between October and March, while it hardly rains during the summer months.
The most famous attraction of Saïdia, which borders Algeria, is its golden sandy coastline - one of the longest in Morocco - with beaches extending for 8.6 miles.
The extended coastline of Saïdia allows tourists to choose the beach most suitable to their needs.
While those closest to hotels and touristy areas are easy to access and filled with amenities and services, people who want to relax far from the crowds can get to wilder stretches of sand further away from the town centre.
Among the beaches in the seaside town most loved by tourists is Plage de Saidia.
