A charming seaside town in Greece renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture and narrow, winding streets is a perfect place to enjoy the autumn season.

Molyvos, a picturesque town located on the northern coast of the Greek island of Lesbos, basks in temperatures as high as 22C in October. 

The town is crowned by a stunning Byzantine castle, the Molyvos Castle, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the Aegean Sea.

The main attraction of the town is its stone houses with red-tiled roofs, many of which are adorned with blooming bougainvillaea. 

The architecture reflects the rich history of the area, with influences from the Byzantine, Genoese, and Ottoman periods.

Though it's a favourite among tourists, the allure of its stone houses cascading down the hillsides to a lively harbour remains as captivating as ever. 

Molyvos has a charming harbour lined with traditional fishing boats and waterfront tavernas.

One user said: "Lesvos is a very nice Greek island. But, you should see Molyvos town. It is great. I advise the town, especially for the honeymooners. A castle, beach, streets, old houses, flowers, small shops and everything."

A second user said: "Molyvos is a beautiful town on the island of Lesvos. Perched on top of a hill is the castle surrounded by my cobbled street with restaurants, taverners, and craft shops. The town has a very relaxed feel, with lush green surroundings.

"If you enjoy a low-key holiday, with just the right amount of things to do, then this is the resort for you. I would recommend this resort for couples, both old and young, and travellers. Great scenery, great food, and great local people make this a great place to visit."
