While many Brits are opting for staycations during the cost of living crisis, there are several budget-friendly abroad options. Turkey is great for those looking to travel somewhere hot without breaking the bank.

The Blue Flag Kleopatra Beach in Alanya, Turkey, has gorgeous soft, white sand, and it is even rumoured to have been where the famous Egyptian queen and her lover Marc Anthony visited for a dip in the med.

The beach's clear, turquoise waters make it the ideal playground for families, water sports enthusiasts and sunseekers. There is no shortage of bars and restaurants nearby either, and it’s perfect for a gentle sunset stroll.

Many tourists come to the beach to indulge in water sports activities, such as parasailing and jet skiing, or diving and snorkelling.

According to the MEN, Kleopatra Beach was named the second cheapest beach destination by travel experts at Omio.

The company analysed data from Google ratings to compare prices and Playa de las Canteras in Gran Canaria came out on top, but it was closely followed by Kleopatra.

An ice cream only costs 69p at the Turkish resort, while a pint of beer comes in at £1.86, a spritz at £3.43 and a bottle of water at 37p, and renting a sun lounger will only set you back around £6.44 per day.

There is also a cable car that runs near a mediaeval castle and offers stunning views of the coast. The Damlatas Caves are located just behind the beach, and they have a rather interesting claim to fame.

The caves are also known as the "asthma-cure cave" as many believe it’s capable of curing respiratory complaints, including asthma.

In fact, between 6-10 am in the early morning, the cave is only open for visitors who suffer from asthma.
