THE BEST national parks across the UK have been revealed by Snaptrip for Britons heading on a staycation in the country in light of National Parks Week.
National Parks Week takes part between 22 and 29 July and the UK is home to some of the best in the world.
Across the country there are unique locations to explore that each offer something new for Britons, from the best view to the biggest park.
According to the National Parks website, the areas are deemed to be a national park because of their “beautiful countryside, wildlife and cultural heritage”.
With 15 national parks across the country to choose from, which are the best six?

The Peak District
The Peak District became the first national park in the UK in 1951.
Found in central England, it is split into the Dark Peak and the White Peak and it’s highest point is 636m at Kinder Scout.
Travellers can visit it from Manchester, Derby and Sheffield due to the sheer size of the overlapping region.
The National Trust owns about 12 per cent of the park, and the famous town of Bakewell is the only town within it.
The Broads
While a national park, The Broads is the only one that is entirely man-made and is protected as a wetland.
With the majority of the 117 square miles in Norfolk, there are seven rivers that can be traversed.
Cairngorms
For the largest national park in the UK, people should head to the Cairngorms in North East Scotland.
With its steep mountains and rocks, many choose the area for adventure sports such as skiing and rock and ice climbing.
It is also home to a number of rare creatures such as red squirrels and the crested tit.
Snaptrip even advises immersing in Scottish heritage “with a spot of whisky tasting at one of the world famous distilleries”.
Pembrokeshire Coast
As the only fully coastal national park, it has 186 miles of coastline along the way.
It is one of three national parks in Wales, with the other two being the famous Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia.

Northumberland
The most northernmost national park in the UK, Northumberland national park covers 400 square miles.
Many head to the area to visit Hadrian’s wall, dating back to the Roman times.
It is also used for many operations with the Ministry of Defence who use 23 per cent of it.
North Yorkshire Moors
Snaptrip added this park to the list as a popular spot of “Bram Stoker, William Wordsworth and Lewis Carroll”.
A recent campaign to create more homes and jobs in the area have been recently shelved, however, despite a dwindling population.
