Most 'satisfying' cruises named - and they offer the most amazing food and drinks
With tourists looking to book their next cruise holiday, the consumer group Which? has shared the most satisfying companies to travel with.
The consumer group Which? has shared the most satisfying companies for a cruise holiday, with one company getting a score of nearly 80 percent.
It is estimated that 31.5 million went on a cruise holiday in 2023, with tourists able to choose from more than 50 companies for their trip at sea.
Rory Boland, Editor of Which? Travel, noted that some of the brands offering reasonably priced trips have the best reputations.
He advised: "River cruises can be an ideal way to explore a country or wider region at leisure, with smaller boats often meaning a more relaxed, intimate experience compared to large ocean liners.
"Don't think that you have to spend a lot to get the best cruise though. Riviera, the best mid-priced operator on our survey, far outperformed its more expensive rival Uniworld - with guests more satisfied not just with the cabins and food and cabins, but also the standard of shore excursions."
Whilst it is not one of the most well-known companies, Which? stated that the best company for a smaller cruise is Jules Verne, receiving a score of 79 percent.
Whilst they are not the most famous company in the world of cruising, Jules Verne was established in 1978 and currently operates a fleet of smaller than average ships.
However, despite the French company's small size, they offer breaks around the world, including trips around Europe, Africa, America and Asia.
Another company highly recommended by Which? was Avalon Waterways, with the company suggesting that they are particularly good for themed cruises.
With a focus on itineraries within Europe, Avalon Waterways offer niche breaks that focus on themes such as music, food and photography.
Whilst many visitors noted that the cruises can be costly, they stated that the quality of the food and drink on board is particularly good, with guests able to take advantage of a happy hour deal each day.

However, it was not all good news, with Which? suggesting that Saga is the cruise line that has the most room for improvement, gaining a score of 70 percent.
The company, which also offers insurance and other types of holiday, focuses on guests that are over 50, with their cruises featuring laid back trips along some of the world's most scenic rivers.
However, the organisation highlighted that guests who recently took a trip with the brand stated that some of their ships felt outdated and offered less space compared to rival companies.
Finally, the company suggested that the cruise line with the lowest satisfaction rating is Shearings, a coach company that allows tourists to buy a cabin on a number of other river cruises around Europe.
Whilst the brand offers cheaper than average trips, with all journeys starting and finishing within the UK, guests were often left unsatisfied with their break away.
In particular, Which? found that passengers often had to pay significantly extra for drinks, with one noting that the food was similar to school dinners.
