Holiday destination dubbed 'Hawaii of Spain' – and tourists want to 'gatekeep' it
A gorgeous region has been dubbed the 'Hawaii of Spain' - and people who have been there are desperately trying to keep it a secret.
Travel enthusiasts are encouraging others to keep a lesser-known area dubbed the "Hawaii of Spain" secret.
The Vacation Twins, who boast more than 16,000 followers on TikTok, recently posted a breathtaking video of what they called the "prettiest beach in Spain".
The clip revealed an idyllic scene with green slopes cascading onto a scarcely-populated sandy beach, and azure waters stretching as far as the eye can see.
Their video was captioned "Hawaii of Spain", prompting several viewers to inquire about its exact location.Some even pleaded with the twins to "gatekeep" the location, to prevent it from being overrun.
The beach featured in the video is Playa de Torimbia, one of many picturesque locations along the coast of Spain's Asturias region.
Located in north-west Spain, Asturias lies in an area called 'Green Spain' due to its damp, temperate climate that fosters lush vegetation. It's renowned for its awe-inspiring mountain landscapes and stunning beaches, including Playa del Silencio - the Beach of Silence.
Playa del Silencio lies in the west of Asturias. According to Asturias.com: "Its name says it all, Playa del Silencio is a silent place where the cliffs close in on themselves, turning the waves of the surroundings into a subtle lullaby [...] The protective cliffs, scattered islets on the shore and the special quality and colour of its waters are combined."

Asturias is also home to the scenic cities of Gijon and Oviedo, not to mention an array of charming fishing village. Cudillero, renowned for its vibrantly-coloured houses, is perhaps the most picturesque of these villages.
The Vacation Twins also visited Cudillero in another TikTok video, hailing it as "the most charming village in Spain". The clip showcases the beautiful harbour with crystal-clear waters, and it amassed more than 56,000 likes.
