Steven Spielberg reportedly wants Chris Hemsworth to battle robots in Robopocalypse. Spielberg met with Hemsworth about starring in the adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson's best-selling novel though no formal offer has been made yet. The sci-fi thriller is set in the near future where robots are a part of everyday life until a sentient artificial intelligence underneath the ice in Alaska programs them to kill. "It's a movie about a global war between man and machine," Spielberg said. "It's not the newest theme, it's been done throughout science fiction, but it's a theme that becomes more relevant every year."

Producer Frank Marshall said during an interview promoting The Bourne Legacy, that a fourth Jurassic Park movie would, "be on the screen within two years." Marshall went on to reveal that it will be a summer release and that Jurassic Park 4 will indeed be a true sequel and not a reboot. Steven Spielberg confirmed earlier this year that he would not be directing the film, but would be heavily involved in developing the story. You can read the full post over on Collider.

The Spice Girls are expected to close out the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, which begin in just over a week in London. [THR]

James Marsden has been tapped to replace Matthew McConaughey as John F. Kennedy in Lee Daniels' The Butler. McConaughey dropped out of the film last month to prep for the AIDS drama The Dallas Buyer's Club. [Variety]

Transformers and Star Trek franchise writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are looking to adapt Sleepy Hollow for the small screen. The duo is in talks with CW to bring the story of Ichabod Crane to modern times and partner him with a female sheriff. The pair will solve supernatural mysteries in a town caught in the midst of a battle between good and evil. Total Recall director Len Wiseman has been tapped to direct the pilot. [Deadline]

Jackie Earle Haley, best known for playing Rorschach in The Watchmen, has joined Jose Padilha's RoboCop remake. Haley will play Maddox, the man who dispense military training to RoboCop. Jay Baruchel is also reportedly circling a lead role. The remake currently features a cast including Hugh Laurie, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson Abbie Cornish and Joel Kinnaman in the title role.

Peter Berg's Navy SEAL action drama Lone Survivor is close to drafting Emile Hirsch as part of its cast. The film tells the story of a Navy SEAL team's fight to stay alive during a Taliban ambush in the midst of a mission to kill a terrorist leader in Afghanistan. The cast currently includes Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch and Ben Foster. [Variety]

Ruby Sparks arrives in theaters next weekend and in this new clip Calvin (Paul Dano) finds out why he shouldn't have named his dog after F. Scott Fitzgerald.

In this new clip from Celeste and Jesse Forever, Ari Gaynor lays out the reasons why it's absurd that Rashida Jones's Celeste broke up with Jesse (Andy Samburg). The film opens limited on August 3. Scroll down to the Pics and Posters section for a few new images from the film.

Joss Whedon stars in a new YouTube series called Written by a Kid. In this first episode, Whedon takes on a one-eyed monster that kills milkman Dave Foley.

It's almost impossible to not drawn comparisons to Bridesmaids, but here's the first full-length trailer for Bachlorette starring Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan and Rebel Wilson. The film hits theaters Septmeber 7.

Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis introduced the starting line-up for the Chicago Cubs yesterday and threw out the first pitch while eating a slice of deep-dish pizza. You might recall, Ferrell did a similar line-up roll call during a Bulls-Hornets basketball game earlier this year.

 

Speaking of recalling stuff, Kate Beckinsale, who stars in the upcoming Total Recall (see what I did there) stopped by Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show and after chatting about her daughter, Facebook and being named the sixth most boring person while attending Oxford, read an Fifty Shades of Grey-esque excerpt from Moby Dick.

Beasts of the Southern Wild continues to wow audiences with its authentic and rich story-telling. The film is currently in limited release and Fox Searchlight released this new featurette about the film's mythical Orox.

Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David collaborated in the '90s to bring us one of the most beloved shows about nothing called Seinfeld. Now Jerry is launching a new YouTube series called Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and his first guest is none other than David. The 13-minute long conversation finds the two talking about why David's ex-wife left him and other Larry David character niches. The YouTube video isn't embeddable, so click the image below to watch.

While Touch is on hiatus getting ready to begin shooting its second season, star Kiefer Sutherland took time to film an Axe body spray commercial.
