Pirate Radio In the 1960s, eight DJs on a boat in the middle of the Atlantic broke all the rules for the sake of their love of rock music, and pissed off the British government in the process. Philip Seymour Hoffman stars as ringleader The Count, alongside Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans and other stellar British actors. While the concept may not be as deep as the ocean they sailed, the film's awesome soundtrack (featuring tracks by The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Dusty Springfield and more) will have you singing the rest of the day.

Extras: Commentary, deleted scenes (DVD/BD); featurettes on the music, filming at sea, the sets, and learning how to be a DJ (BD).

'Pirate Radio'

Defendor In Woody Harrelson's version of Kick-Ass, he stars as Arthur Poppington, who by day directs traffic, by night defends the free world from crime using his arsenal of homemade gadgets and a suit with a "D" duct-taped on the chest. Trouble comes when he takes on a gun-trafficking druglord whom he believes caused his mother's death. It's quirky, low-budget, and worth a look thanks to Woody Harrelson's adept, nuanced performance. DVD only.
Extras: Commentary, five featurettes, deleted scenes and outtakes.
