Inferno: Director Ron Howard has revealed the first on-set photos from Inferno, the latest in a series based on books by Dan Brown. Robotech: James Wan (Furious 7) is in "early discussions" to direct Robotech, the big-screen adaptation of a Japanese animated television series. The show revolved around "robotic technology found on a crashed alien starship that Earth used to fight off various alien invasions." Thanks to the gigantic box-office success of Furious 7, Wan is very much in demand, so it's by no means a certainty that he'll be available for this potential franchise starter. [Deadline]

 

Kingsman: The Secret Service

Kingsman: The Secret Service: A sequel to Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman: The Secret Service is on its way. The first film, loosely based on a six-issue comic book series by Mark Millar, became an unexpected worldwide hit after it was released in February, grossing more than $400 million. Irrational Man

Irrational Man Trailer: Joaquin Phoenix plays the titular character in the first trailer for Irrational Man, a philosophy professor experiencing an existential crisis. Emma Stone and Parker Posey also star; Woody Allen wrote and directed. The movie opens in theaters on July 24. [JoBlo]
