What to Watch on Vudu

We're in the full swing of fall movie season now and Vudu certainly reflects that, offering good deals on surprising new movies as well as opportunities to expand your personal movie library with a selection of great sales.

New This Week

Director, writer and actor Kevin Smith returns to the world of a small convenience store in Clerks III, now available in 4K UHD, to see what's happening in the lives of Dante (Brian O'Hallaran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson), who have seen many changes. The changes may be small, but the laughs are big. Director Smith, who co-stars as Silent Bob, has brought along many of his friends to enliven the comic proceedings, including the irrepressible Jay (Jason Mewes).

Deals of the Week

Minions: The Rise of Gru, now available in 4K UHD for $12.99, offers endless replay value for viewers, and not just any young, Minion-sized tykes that may reside in your household. The clever gags and inventive color schemes are a pure delight for adult viewers too, coupled with witty references that are easy to miss on a first viewing. It's also a great pleasure to hear Steve Carell as a younger version of his own super-villain, Gru, when Gru was just learning how to be evil.

Initially, Vengeance -- first time on sale, for $9.99 4K UHD -- may sound like another "Easterner goes West and learns a thing or two about himself and life itself" comedy. B.J. Novak, who wrote and directed, stars as a stereotypical New Yorker who has learned to live on his own wit and accomplishments; frankly, he comes across as smug and haughty. Yet he finds himself opening up to the friendly folks who offer him hospitality and comfort, despite their differences, before something happens that will change his mind.
