Our Verdict
Earning 1% in Disney Rewards Dollars on all card purchases, the Disney® Visa® Card* offers the bare necessities. The no-annual-fee Disney® Visa® Card* might seem like an obvious choice for a Disney/Marvel/Star Wars fan, but it might not be the best choice for a rewards card.

- Exclusive photo opportunities with Disney or Star Wars Characters
- Discounts at Disney properties and cruises, Disney stores, and shopdisney.com
Cons
- Foreign transaction fee
- Low welcome offer
- Rewards rate is only 1%
- No bonus rewards categories
Highlights
- Earn a $300 statement credit after spending $1000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening
- No annual fee
- Earn unlimited 1% in Disney Rewards Dollars on all purchases
- Redeem rewards towards theme park tickets, resort stays, shopping, dining and more Disney and Star Wars experiences at most Disney locations

Einführung
As a fan of Disney, you might be intrigued by carrying a credit card with your favorite character on it, especially one with some Disney park perks. However, the rewards structure on the Disney® Visa® Card* isn’t as exciting as cast members in the parks, and the earning rate sets off no fireworks.

Chase Disney Visa Credit Card Rewards
Earning Rewards
The Disney® Visa® Card* offers 1% in Disney Rewards Dollars on all card purchases. You can earn unlimited rewards using the Disney® Visa® Card* on purchases, but they expire five years after posting to your account. However, once you transfer the Disney Rewards Dollars to a Disney Rewards Redemption Card (more on that below), those rewards never expire.
The card also comes with a welcome bonus: Earn a $300 statement credit after spending $1000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
Redeeming Rewards
Rewards are earned in the form of Disney Rewards Dollars, which can be redeemed toward Disney goods and services. You’ll earn at a rate of 1% in Disney Rewards Dollars on all card purchases.
However, to redeem these rewards, you must get a reloadable redemption card, which can be obtained by going to DisneyRewards.com, calling 1-800-300-8575 or at various theme park locations. Then, you have to transfer your Disney Rewards Dollars to the card.
For the first reward transfer, you’ll have to accumulate at least 20 Rewards Dollars, which can be achieved by spending $2,000 on the Disney® Visa® Card*. All subsequent transfers must be at least 10 Rewards Dollars.
Once you transfer the Disney Rewards Dollars to your redemption card, they’re available for use at Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts (in the U.S. only), on Disney Cruise Lines, at a Disney Store and toward Disney, Pixar and “Star Wars” movies at AMC Theaters.
Rewards Potential
Forbes Advisor uses data from various government agencies to determine baseline income and spending averages across various categories. The 70th percentile of wage-earning households brings in $116,000 annually and has $36,177 in expenses that can be reasonably charged to a credit card.

0% Introductory Rates
By holding the Disney® Visa® Card*, you qualify for a special 0% intro APR for 6 months on select Disney vacation package purchases, then a 19.24% - 28.24% variable APR on purchases and balance transfers applies. A balance transfer fee of either $5 or 5% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater, applies. This special financing can be used with select Disney vacation packages, Disney cruises, Adventures by Disney packages and packages at the Aulani resort.
To qualify for this financing, Disney specifies your trip must be booked via the Walt Disney Travel Company, online at Disney sites or with an eligible travel agent or site.
We don’t recommend buying vacations with a credit card that you can’t pay off in full when the statement closes, but this could be a useful option for those who can pay off the balance within the promotional period.

How the Chase Disney Visa Credit Card Stacks Up
Disney® Visa® Card* vs. Disney® Premier Visa® Card*
Chase issues two Disney credit cards: the Disney® Visa® Card* and the Disney® Premier Visa® Card*. The welcome offer on the Disney® Premier Visa® Card* is more lucrative: $300 statement credit after you spend $1000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. The Disney® Premier Visa® Card* also comes with more lucrative rewards earnings: 5% in Disney Rewards Dollars on card purchases made directly at DisneyPlus.com, Hulu.com or ESPNPlus.com, 2% on card purchases at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and most Disney locations. Plus, earn 1% on all other card purchases. However, the card charges an annual fee of $49.
The most notable difference between the two cards is how rewards can be redeemed. In addition to the options for using Disney Rewards Dollars offered by the Disney® Visa® Card*, you can also redeem rewards toward airline tickets when using the Disney® Premier Visa® Card*.
If you make at least $2,500 in purchases per year that earn 2% back, you’ll earn enough in rewards to recoup the annual fee.
Disney® Visa® Card* vs. Citi Double Cash® Card
Another more flexible and rewarding credit card for cash-back fanatics is the Citi Double Cash® Card which earns 2% cash back on all purchases—1% when purchases are made and another 1% when they’re paid off.
This means the net earnings on the Citi Double Cash® Card are double those on the Disney® Visa® Card*. Plus, the rewards earned with the Double Cash can be redeemed in a variety of ways that many consumers will likely find more useful than Disney Rewards Dollars.
The Double Cash earns Citi ThankYou® Points, which can be redeemed as cash back to a bank account, a statement credit against your balance, for gift cards from various retailers, to shop with points at participating online merchants or transferred to Citi’s airline and hotel partners. When it comes to earning cash back without paying an annual fee, the Citi Double Cash® Card is hard to beat.
Disney® Visa® Card* vs. Hotel Credit Cards
Your ultimate goal in seeking out Disney Rewards Dollars is likely getting a discount on a trip to Disneyland or Disney World, and you can use hotel rewards to score some inexpensive nights.
On the West Coast, a Marriott-branded card might help you save on your next Disneyland vacation. For a $95 annual fee, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card*, with its annual free night certificate (for stays valued at 35,000 points or fewer), could be the right choice for your wallet.
If your Disney Dreams are beckoning you to Florida, you won’t do better than the Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express*. While it can be tough to pick the best credit card for your next Disney trip, the Hilton Aspire can get you up to a week’s stay at a Disney World hotel with the welcome bonus of 150,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 in purchases within the first 6 months of card membership and using your free night award. However, it comes with a steep $550 annual fee.

Is the Chase Disney Visa Credit Card for You?
Because the Disney® Visa® Card* has no annual fee, you might consider keeping it in your wallet for the perks. Although the rewards technically don’t cost a thing, the Disney Visa still isn’t the best option for earning rewards.
If you’re set on a Disney card, consider that you can get the same perks with the Disney® Premier Visa® Card*, which has a higher rate of return for a minimal annual fee.
