FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WALA) - The Mardi Gras fun boomed across both sides of the bay Monday night.

The Order of Mystic Magnolias rolled through downtown Fairhope.

Parade revelers were excited as we get ready to head into Fat Tuesday.

It was a look back through the decades including hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

The magic of Mardi Gras brought some from states away to experience it for themselves.

“This is our first Mardi Gras! It’s been lots of fun we’re excited to be a part of Alabama now,” one parade reveler said.

Besides the great throws, the music, and the beads there is one other thing people cherish the most this time of year....

“Probably just everyone comes together and becomes friends like we met friends over here last week and so we and so we met them again this week. So it’s like one big family one big party,” one woman said.

Fat Tuesday parades in Baldwin County kick-off in both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
