METAIRIE, La. (WVUE) - The New Orleans Saints will be without one of their starting edge rushers to start the 2024 season.

According to Head Coach Dennis Allen, Saints DE Tanoh Kpassagnon tore his Achilles tendon and will be out indefinitely.

Allen said the tear happened while Kpassagnon was doing drills at the indoor training facility but gave no specifics on what happened.

Before the 2023 season, the former Super Bowl champion signed a two-year, 5-million-dollar deal and racked up 9.5 sacks with 65 tackles in his three years at New Orleans.

A return is not completely off the table for the former second-round draft pick in the eyes of HC Allen.

“He’s on the road to recovery, he’s going through the rehab process. He’s going to work as hard as he possibly can to get himself back out there as soon as he can. When that is, I don’t know.”
