NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Chase Young only played in a combined 12 games during the 2021, 2022 seasons. Last season, Young appeared to beat the injury bug, suiting up in 16 games. The saints signed Young this offseason, but he carried a neck injury. He’s missed all practices this offseason, but is staying in shape.

“I just ran 10, 50′s (50 yards). Getting in the weight room, getting strong again. Yeah I’m going to be ready. Right now I’m taking it one day at a time, getting in my playbook, so when my number is called I’m ready,” said Chase Young.

Until his number is called, Young is leaning on Cam Jordan for some veteran help.

“Going to Cam, he’s asked me certain things, how he sees offenses. Whole time he’s been in the league, formations, pre-snap reads, things like that,” said Young.

Now even though he hasn’t played a down for the Black and Gold, Young is feeling the love from New Orleans.

“Yeah it’s real cool, I love it here. Only thing I had to get used to is that heat. It’s real cool, good teammates. Everybody welcomed me with open arms, so it’s been great,” said Young.

Saints training camp starts on July 24. So Young has a month in a few weeks to get back to full health.
