Lynd says the man was found deceased in Pascagoula on April 14.

“We have currently exhausted all resources in identifying him and are now asking for the public’s help so that we can hopefully reunite his remains with his family,” Lynd said.

‘John Doe’ is described as a black male, 6′0″, 190 pounds., and brown eyes, with partially gray and black hair. He was possibly in his late 40s to 60s.

He was found wearing a Black T-shirt and dark gray/black cargo pants. He did not have a wallet or ID. The only clue investigators found was a set of keys in his pocket.

“He had a U.S. Post Office key. We’ve ran that key number through all of our local post offices. We had a postmaster help run that key number as well, with no hits,” Lynd told WLOX News.

He also said that the man’s fingerprints were run through state and federal databases with no luck. They have such little info to go on, that they’re not even sure where he is from.

“We don’t know if he’s from Mississippi. He could’ve been walking, traveling with somebody else, we don’t know where he came from or where he was going,” Lynd explained. “The last thing I want to do is turn his body over as an unclaimed indigent with the county, where he will be buried as a John Doe. At the end of the day, every person deserves to be cremated or buried in a dignified manner. Getting his identity and putting a name with his face and notifying his family and reuniting his remains is our top priority.”

If anyone has information regarding this man or if they know who he could possibly be, they should contact the coroner’s office at 228-769-3197.
