Man in custody after allegedly barricading himself in vehicle, shooting at SWAT vehicle in Milton
MILTON, Fla. (WALA) - A man is in custody after police say he barricaded himself in a vehicle and shot at a SWAT vehicle Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Around 1:42 p.m., Santa Rosa sheriff’s deputies and SWAT team aided Milton Police Department with the incident on Glover Lane where a suspect had allegedly barricaded himself in a vehicle. According to the sheriff’s department, the armed suspect got out of the vehicle and fired nine rounds, which hit the SRCSO SWAT vehicle, authorities said.
No one was hit by the suspect’s gunfire, authorities said. Deputies took the suspect into custody. Authorities said he was taken to an area hospital in stable condition but did not give any information about the nature or extent of any injuries he may have sustained.
The investigation into the incident remains active.
