Man wanted on multiple warrants allegedly tries to flee before K-9 units track him down

HOLT, Fla. (WALA) - A man wanted on multiple warrants now has new charges after the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said he ran from deputies.

Authorities said Joshua Douglas, 39, had active warrants for fleeing and eluding, possession of controlled substance, and driving on a suspended license. The OCSO said Douglas from deputies into the woods near Summertime Drive in Holt.

At the time, K-9 Units with OCSO and the Okaloosa Correctional Institution, which had been on a training day, tracked Douglas through thick woods. Douglas was found in some foliage, about 2 miles from where the search began.

Douglas is being held without bond in the Okaloosa County jail.
