Officials said McMillian faces charges of murder and first-degree assault in connection to the death of Donte Evans.

McMillian, 19, of Semmes, is the second suspect arrested in connection with the murder after LaDerick Davis was arrested in Cobb County, Ga., back in May.

Mobile police said they took McMillian into custody after a brief standoff at a residence on Cortez Drive.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said that a Mobile Police Department SWAT team and the sheriff’s office Special Operations Unit secured the residence after police took McMillian into custody at that location. A search warrant was executed at the home, where MCSO detectives recovered two Glock firearms and ammunition.

Jail records show McMillian also faces additional firearms charges.
