Milton woman charged with DUI manslaughter after fatal crash

MILTON, Fla. (WALA) - A Milton woman faces a DUI manslaughter charge following a fatal crash Monday in Milton.
The Florida Highway Patrol said 65-year-old Deborah L. Fiss was driving a 2012 Honda van south on State Road 89 when it veered off the road onto the shoulder and overturned. A passenger, also of Milton, was ejected.
Authorities said the passenger was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital where she died of her injuries.
Fiss was taken to Santa Rosa Medical Center, where FHP made contact with her. FHP said Fiss appeared to be under the influence of drugs and after further investigation, she was arrested.
She is being held without bond in the Santa Rose County Jail.
