MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Alabama Port Authority has some new equipment to help bolster the economy.

Two new ship-to-shore cranes arrived Wednesday at the Port of Mobile.

The two new cranes represent a $40 million investment by APM Terminals.

Their arrival coincides with the planned start of the $366 million project to deepen and widen the ship channel.

Between the port, state funding and federal funding, and private investments by APM Terminals, there will be more than $1 billion invested in the container terminal by 2030.
